Friday Funny!

I am going to say something and I know once I say it  I'm going to get nothing but grief from my sister-in-law. Are you ready, Wendy? This year, so far, I think I have enjoyed the Christmas season almost as much as I enjoy Halloween. I know; crazy, but true.

This Christmas season seems different to me somehow. It might be that I don't feel the pressures I usually do around this time of year or maybe it's that we are away from family so I have tried harder to make the season special for my children. Whatever it is I have to say how grateful I am for this peaceful and loving feeling I have had at this Christmas time.

Last year my in-laws bought me an Advent calender shaped like a Christmas tree. It has individual cubes about an inch in size all around with  little doors on each cube numbered one thru twenty-four. I filled those boxes with different types of candy and have really enjoyed watching my children take turns opening those numbered doors. With each night we read a special Christmas story that highlights the true reason for the season, sing a Christmas song and then have family prayer. It has been amazing how much love it has brought into our home as my children really embrace the Christmas spirit. I guess the saying is true, "You reap what you sow", and right now I am loving the harvest.

Onto the Friday Funny! So I know after saying how much I am enjoying the season I go and post this, but I couldn't help it because I just watched The Hobbit with my husband in preparation to go see part two tomorrow.

Friday Funny!

Welcome back! November was a great month. My husband graduated with his BS degree and I got some much needed visiting time with my family in Utah. I love this time of year. It's a great reminder to remember to be thankful for all the wonderful people in my life. Several of those people are my children. They bring so much joy to my life. I don't know what I would do with out them.

Yesterday was a special day to me, two years ago to the day I received a phone call to say that Mia's birth mom was giving up her parental rights in order for us to adopt her. Little did I know what an emotional experience that would be for me, but that phone call changed my life for the better and strengthened my faith that my Lord and Savior is very aware of my needs and desires.

I am so grateful to Mia's birth mother for having the strength to do what she did. I will be forever grateful to her for her sacrifice. Having Mia in our lives has been amazing. She has a loving and accepting spirit and is so precious to her family. She loves her siblings almost as much as they love her. I can't imagine our lives without her. This may seems selfish, but I want to adopt again. I am not sure this will ever happen, but I have hope in my heart that we will have the opportunity to add another sweet child to our family.

Now onto my Friday Funny! When I found this clip it made me want to watch the whole movie so I guess I know what my husband and I will be watching this evening. Hope you enjoy.
