Friday Funny!

My twelve year old son came home from school today with a note. He handed it to me and said, "You have to read this."

I admit I was a bit nervous, but he's a good kid so it couldn't be too be, right? Right! My kid rocks! He took a test at school to see what grade level he reads on and his results came back as "Post High School". The only one in his class to score that high. I'm a very proud Mama right now.

All my kids are great and they all make me proud to be their mother. I love my job. This is my payday for sure.

This weeks Friday Funny is to encourage you to read, even if it's just a little.

I picked up the book, Celtic Illusion for obvious reasons. It made me laugh out loud. It said, "I guess I didn't realize how desperate I really was until now." I guess that sums up my life.  I hope you all try this and get a good laugh.

Have a great weekend!

Friday Funny!

My Friday has not been as funny as I would have like it to be. I had a migraine yesterday so now I am dealing with the hangover pain today. Migraines leave me feeling wiped out. For me, it's like having a stroke. My vision starts out kind of blurry and slowly moves to me going almost completely blind. Depending which side my headache is on the opposite side of my body goes numb which includes my tongue so I can't speak, although even if I didn't go numb my brain is so messed up I can't construct a complete sentence anyway. Once all that passes and I can move again I've become so nauseated from it all I throw up (multiple times), and then, after all that the pain starts. The horrific pain that can only be described as the worst brain freeze in the history of brain freezes that doesn't let up and doesn't go away for hours. Sounds funny, huh?

Well, now that the worst part of it has past I have what I like to refer to as the migraine hangover that can last anywhere between one to four days after the initial migraine. It leaves you with an annoying headache that gets worse if you bend down or try and move too quickly, exhausted and starving. (Not sure why it leaves me feeling so hungry.)Don't fret though, I am under a doctors care. He told me that it is almost exactly like having a stroke and scars my brain each time I have one. So, I guess I better hurry up and finish the Celtic Knot series while I still have enough brain power to do it.

Anyway, enough about my sad situation and onto the Friday Funny. This might just be because I like to see people getting what's coming to them or it might be my bad mood, but I think this guy got exactly what he deserved.

Friday Funny!

Great week coming to an end! We went to Branson, Missouri this week and had a blast. My inlaws were here for a visit which was so fun, but then left on Wednesday which was sad and ruined that day. We miss you Gene and Beth! Gratefully, my husband was able to salvage the rest of the week by    only having to work Wednesday and Thursday this week. I love family time.

For those of you who don't know we have been on a house hunt for a home in the country. We have found several but they are either to small, to old, to far away or cost more than we are willing to spend. This has caused me a great deal of distress because I can't have most of the animals I want in town, but I don't want to give up certain comforts of living here and hate the complications of moving.

Anyway, we looked at a beautiful home yesterday and although we were tempted we decided against it because of the cost. It would put things to tight for us and the last thing I want is to be house poor. The whole process has been frustrating to say the least, so for both our sanities, we have agreed to just stop looking altogether and instead of buying a new house where we can have chickens, cows, ducks, goats and turkeys we are going to stay in the one we own now and get a hot tub and bunnies.

See the logic there? Yeah, I didn't think so, welcome to the way my mind works. Anyway, it all makes sense to me and that's what really matters. Now onto my Friday Funny. I have two this week. The first be has the "sh" word in it so if that is going to offend you please just skip it, the next one is for everyone.

Friday Funny!

I have decided to post my Friday Funny early today because I get so tired when I wait until evening. Yesterday was a great day. We went to the Missouri State Fair and saw all the animals I want to raise on my farm. It made me miss my little farm we had back in Utah. The great thing is we were able to go to the fair with some great people which helped make up for the loss of my animals. Thanks Beth and Gene for coming with us.

This weeks Friday Funny is from my friend Jake. He posted this last night and immediatly I knew it would be my Friday Funny. I hope you enjoy this Amazon review of Sugar Free Gummy Bears. I have had my share of sugar free items and so I read this it rang true for me.

Friday Funny!

When I was little my dad use to tickle me. I hated it. I hated it so much that it gave me nightmares. I would dream that a monster would wait in a dark room (usually my parent's room), where the lights wouldn't turn on even when I flipped the switch. When I was desperate enough and felt I had to talk to my parents I would walk in the room, pass by the closet and then monster would jump out and proceed to tickle me. It was horrifying.

It didn't help that my dad's idea of tickling was jamming his fingers into my sides until I felt like my skin would tear. It was very painful, but for some strange reason I would laugh until I couldn't breath...yet another reason I hate tickling.

This Friday Funny reminded me of my hatred of tickling. It also reminded me of my dad. I will love my dad forever and hate tickling for just as long. This is how I still want to react when someone tries to tickle me.
